LAST NIGHT I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM
(Ed McCurdy, last verse by Faith Petric)
Last night I had the strangest dream Id ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed to put an end to war
I dreamed I saw a mighty room, it was filled with women & men
And the papers they were signing said theyd never fight again
And when the papers were all signed and a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads, and grateful prayers were prayed
And the people in the streets below were dancing round and round
While swords and guns and uniforms lay scattered on the ground
(Instrumental)
When I awoke, twas just a dream and peace was just a word
I tried to tell them of my dream, but nothing could be heard
And then I thought, There is a way and I knew just what Id do
Id organize and work for peace until my dream came true
Last night I had the strangest dream Id ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed to put an end to war
