WILL I DREAM? (Hali Hammer)
My life is moving forward – I’m turning things around
Our season spent together now has passed
And when my mind shifts back through time, objectively I see
This infatuation wasn’t meant to last
I lay down on my pillow where I rub my tired eyes
Sleep is just a false and fickle friend…
I toss about with endless doubt – the question on my mind –
While I’m sleeping, will I dream of you again?
When I sleep will I be dreaming
Of being held so tight
Of whispered words I’ve only heard
In these dreams at night
I need my rest, but I confess I fear the story’s end –
When I’m sleeping will I dream of you again?
(Instrumental Break)
The alarm rings way too early – I rise up with the blues
Bleary-eyed I comb my hair & wash my face
I fumble for my earrings, slip on a pair of shoes
That coffee pot, my only saving grace
I need a clear solution – I can’t go on this way
Soon enough, I’ll have to get some rest
This can’t go on forever – I stumble through my day
Cause I’m thinking more and sleeping so much less
When I sleep will I be dreaming
Of being held so tight
Of whispered words I’ve only heard
In these dreams at night
I need my rest, but I confess I fear the story’s end –
When I’m sleeping will I dream of you again?
When I’m sleeping – will I dream of you – again?
